ELSA at the General Assembly of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP-SCC)
High-level discussions and knowledge-exchange to promote the development of Smart Cities

24.5.2016, Eindhoven, Netherlands

Jointly organised by the European Commission Directorates – General for Mobility and Transport, Energy and Communications Networks, Content & Technology in association with the Dutch Presidency of the European Council of the European Union, the EIP-SCC gives participants the chance to discuss how to grow smart cities and scale up smart city innovations in Europe. Furthermore, it is an occasion for participants to learn about key policy and market trends for smart cities and communities and to create new contacts and networks. High-level plenary and interactive break-out sessions as well as renowned key-note speakers will enrich the conference.

At this event, the ELSA project will be represented by Eric Portales (Bouygues Energies & Services, ELSA project coordinator) who will act as key-note speaker during the Positive Energy Blocks (PEB) Initiative Break-out, talking about "Renewable energy storage in buildings, local production, consumption and storage using second-hand batteries from electric vehicles”.

The PEB Initiative specifically aims at building 100 Positive Energy Blocks by 2020, including 1 PEB per EU Member State as minimum and taking up nature based solutions where possible. Hence, break-out sessions of the PEB will mainly focus on concrete work planning and implementation steps.
